Highways and Byways

I am a liar. I said I was not going to travel anywhere this summer, but I actually traveled a lot. I did not go on any extravagant trips, none the less there was lots of traveling. The trips were mostly weekend getaways, but they were still a great time. Here is what I wore to a weekend in the city.

I tried to keep most of the clothes so that they were easy to get around in. Most everything was a laid back dressed up. The dress, Keds, and watch was an easy outfit for walking around downtown. While the shorts, button down, and Statement Necklace was functional enough for some heavy duty walking. The Jack Rogers could go with that and the romper. The Romper and Kendra Scott earnings, you were still able to get around in, but a little fancier for going out. Lastly, how could you forget the PJs to sleep in every night. The Purse and water bottle, you could take everywhere with you. and you could throw everything else in the weekender and cosmetic bag.

Party Pants

I have fallen in love... with these pants. I never in a million billion years would have ever gravitated towards these slouchy pants. I needed pants to wear to work because I was going to be moving things around. Long story short everything was in the wash, so I borrowed a pair of these pants from my sister, and oh my goodness. They are perfect. I would compare them to the leggings of work wear. They are so comfy, yet look great. Here are different ways you can wear them:

Rousing Rompers

I never thought I would get on the romper train, but they are everywhere. The other day when I was browsing the store I found a romper for dirt cheap, so I thought I would give it a go. I have to say I am a fan. I thought rompers would make me look short and cut off (I need all the height I can get), however that was not the case. Rompers have my stamp of approval.

Toast!

My sister and I are big on going on sister dates at least once a month. I do not know how long we have been talking about going to toast. I think it has been for the past year, but life comes up and one of us was never able to go. So when I got home from Kentucky, I dragged her along and trust me, no one regretted it.
Everything about this restaurant was perfect! The design was so cute, and the lighting was a great mixture of light and dark.
I have never been to a restaurant with so many original choices. My sister and I both ordered banana split coffees, which were to die for.
Not to mention the breakfast was out of this world. I ordered the tiramisu french toast, and my sister ordered the bacon Gouda omelet, which we split. (next time I go I want to try the s'mores pancakes.)
Over all, it was definitely worth the year wait for an amazing  brunch.
