Pop the Color and Dance on the Tables

*I know I am not suppose to give away all of my secrets, but this post was originally suppose to be, how to wear neon in fall. HOWEVER news flash to even me, neon is not in style anymore. You are sad, I am sad, everyone is very sad.*

That said, I know the closer and closer we get to winter, the more black that seams to sneak up into my wardrobe. By the time the first snow fall hits the ground I am pretty much wearing head to toe black.  "I wear black to show that I am always ready for your funeral", amiright?  Here are little tips I have to keep the colors alive in your cold weather wardrobe.

The Blue is light enough to act as a neutral, but the necklace brings on the color. The boots keep this outfit fall appropriate and are a little bit warmer.
Real talk this is something more of what I will be wearing everyday. I feel as though it is always raining so hunters are a must. If you are anything like me the majority of my clothes are neutrals so having an everyday pop of color can really help. Also lets be real, leggings with an over sized shirt is the college students' uniform. Add the vest and you are good to go, If you have a meeting throw on a statement necklace. (this Tory Burch necklace is on my ultimate wish list. Seriously plaid and pearls you can not go wrong)

Toss the Taco

This post is basically #irrelevant and I will probably regret it posting this, HOWEVER Taco Bell has done something ground breaking. And that thing is having a dollar menu. Seriously Taco Bell I love you for this (My stomach not so much). It was a very exciting trip to TB this week. First I was craving salsa for no reason, and I realized I had not eaten anything since breakfast so I thought to head straight to Taco Bell to try out the famous dollar menu.

I get there, order my food, and I ordered a Baja Blast freeze. The reasoning behind is solely the fact that I really like the color of this beverage. Unfortunately they were out and my heart almost broke into a million little pieces. The guy at the counter asked me if I wanted another flavor and I ordered Dr. Pepper vanilla float. The guy told me that this freeze was on the house because he did not have my flavor putting my heart completely back together and twice as big. Needless to say my day was made.

Beefy Frito Burrito: I ate this first and it was pretty much like Sonic's Frito pie wrap (that they no longer sell) It was so good and totally worth a whole dollar! I doubt there was any nutritional value, but it was good studying food.

Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadilla: Honestly I could have been satisfied with just the burrito, but I love to hate myself. I went for this and it was great. It was spicy and cheesy. I would for sure get it again. Also, I do not know whose definition of "mini" is, but I thought this would be a normal size taco.

Dr. Pepper Vanilla Float Freeze: As far as free floats go this one was a winner. I really wanted to try this flavor, and it was worth the try but I don't think I would get it again. I am not the biggest Dr. P fan.

Verde Salsa: Honestly I did not eat this because It is green, but both of the packets say, "Will you marry me?" and Taco Bell boy, if you keep those free freezes coming then, I DO!

Why I love Where I Live

1. It is essentially across the street from the state capital building making our political clubs top notch. (Yes the Lt Governor pops into our meetings from time to time)

2. With being so close to the capital of Michigan there is so much history and places to visit.

3. MSU has the number one mascot and it is so fun to randomly run into Sparty.

4. Seeing the Spartan Statue on your jog makes you want to sprint the last stretch.

5. There is no better fall than a fall in East Lansing. The weather is perfect, cider is amazing, and the football games are a must.

6. I only live an hour away so my mom can just hop over for a Friday afternoon lunch, or when I have three car loads of stuff, my parents can stop by a week later and bring up another car load, It is so convenient yet far enough that no one can just stop by.

7. I love walking on a fresh fallen snow how it is so fluffy.

8. The fact that there are 4 seasons. This is the first time in my life that I can say that. It is truly amazing how different everything looks throughout the year.

9. The midnight scream during finals week is hilarious.

10. I hate to end on this one, but it is very true, We are one of the top cities for late night food delivery and that is hands down the greatest on Friday nights and finals week.

Train like a Beast...

If I knew I was going to die within the year I would not run for another minute. Its not that I do not like it, it is the fact that it is so time consuming. Looking at it big picture though there are so many health benefits (My doctor told me I had one of the healthiest hearts he has seen in years *insert hair toss here*), it keeps you in shape, and I kind of obligated because of ROTC. That is the only thing that keeps me going. Also, it is so satisfying every time you crush a goal.

Since I feel like I basically live in the gym some days, I thought I might as well look decent, and be fully functional. These are some of my gym essentials that I use regularly.

August 2014 Favorites

The Beginning of August feels like years ago. I have been at school for almost two weeks and it feels like a lifetime. So much changed in August, I was interning in Detroit at the beginning, and now I am away at school.

These are the favorites I had to get me through this past month:

Target Gel Pens// These are the best pens in the world. I would have to hand all of my organization credit to these pens. I can not even look at my planner if it is all messed up and not color coded. I owe these pens a lot for helping me stay motivated and focused. The best part is that you can get them at Target the worst part is that you have to buy a new pack every semster.

Sierra Trail Mix Clif Bar// This bar was life changing. Trail mix is my absolute favorite snack ever, and how can you make trail mix better? I personally thought no one could ever make it better. The people of Clif bar Made it into bar form. I have no clue why this was not thought of before.

No. 57 Jcrew Perfume// Back to the perfume addiction. I did not find out about this perfume until the end of the month, but I am head over heels in love. It is just so amazing. I did not even think about this before, but it complements a coffee smell so well. I can not get over it.

Kendra Scott Necklace// I think I am a bigger fan of the necklace than the earrings. Do not get me wrong I absolutely love both, but I am just more of a necklace person. The necklace was so easy to pair with everything from business clothes, casual clothes, or going out.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3// I have no clue why this is called lotion because it does not moisturize at all. I use this how I would use a toner, and this has cleared up my skin so well.

Jcrew Vans// The slip on shoe is my shoe of the season. I love these shoes so much they are so casual, but look put together. You can essentially wear these with everything.

Kate Spade Cross Body// This bag is perfect for going out. In college I always lean towards the cross body bags more because they are easy to throw things in, but you do not have to tote around everything you own. I love the neutral colors of it, you can easily pair it with black, brown, or navy.

What to Wear to Summer Classes

I always end up questioning myself what to wear to class, but I finally realized that no one even gives it a second thought. Unless you are wearing a prom dress, or something crazy people will generally not care. Because I am an unoriginal conformist, I try to dress similar to how others are dressing in whatever class I am attending at that time. Here are my picks depending on what class I am attending.

I have taken a large array of classes in college (Yay for major changes!) In my more creative classes there are always those people that really try to express themselves through their clothes. (And sometimes hair) This outfit is simplistic and casual enough to be worn to class, but dressed up to look like you did not roll out of bed. Plus the maxi skirt is light so you will not get hot walking to class. Also, the cardigan is great to throw on after being in the air conditioning for a while.

I guess this would go under classes pertaining to your major. I like to be a little more dressed up for class if I know I will be with these people for a couple of years, or on the off chance I will have a professor again.  Additionally I think button downs are so comfy its pretty much a step up from a tshirt and norts.

To be honest this is what I will be wearing almost everyday to class. If I have a meeting with an adviser or a professor, then I will dress up a little bit more. If I am just going to class and then back to the dorms, then I will just throw on whatever. This will especially happen if I am not trying to get anything from the professor such as a letter of recommendation. I love learning about the subjects in General Credits, but how often will I really be using philosophy of biology?
